Frequently asked questions

What is an OG image checker?

An OG (Open Graph) image checker fetches the meta tags from any URL and shows you exactly how your page will look when shared on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord, and Slack. No signup or login needed — completely free.

What are Open Graph tags?

Open Graph tags are HTML meta tags (og:title, og:description, og:image, etc.) that control how your page appears when shared on social media. They determine the title, description, and image shown in link previews on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

How do I check my OG tags for free?

Enter your URL above and click Check. We'll fetch your page, extract all Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags, and show you a live preview of how your link will appear on every major social platform. No account required.

What social platforms does this preview?

We show previews for Google Search, Twitter/X (summary and large image cards), Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Each platform renders link previews differently, so it's important to check all of them.

Why does my OG image not show on Twitter?

Twitter uses its own twitter:image tag first, falling back to og:image. Common issues include: image URL is relative (must be absolute), image is too small (minimum 120x120px, recommended 1200x630px), or the image URL returns a 404. Use this checker to diagnose the issue.

What is the ideal OG image size?

The recommended OG image size is 1200x630 pixels (1.91:1 ratio). This works well across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Discord. For Twitter summary cards, use 1:1 (800x800px). Keep file size under 5MB for best compatibility.

How do I fix missing OG tags?

Add the required meta tags to your page's <head> section: og:title, og:description, og:image, and og:url at minimum. For Twitter, also add twitter:card, twitter:title, twitter:description, and twitter:image. This tool shows exactly which tags are missing.
